A New Beginning

Throughout my youngest years as a dreaming musician, I played in a band called Incontinence. It was a instrumental project, who turned out to shape and inspire my understanding of metal – or music in general actually.. This is where I met Asger for the first time, and a both weird and very ambitious musical workout took place.

I’ve always played the drums in school bands and stuff like that, and I always had a feeling that I rocked the shit out of it!...As time went on and I joined Incontinence it was proven, that I didn’t.. At all. A tough but also needed wake up call. I started taking private drum lessons at a local jazz drummer, and I was beginning to understand the most fundamental aspects of drumming, but at the same time I didn’t feel I was improving in the direction I was looking for. I wanted to sweat and play loud and fast, and every time I started rockin’ it up a little, I was cut off. I knew I had to listen up and practice to improve, but this wasn’t the way. For me at least.. I signed up at a little geeky and intense rock-drum school instead, and started feeling a lot better. I wasn’t working any jobs, and all my time and energy was dedicated to the drums, and I had the best time doing it.

A few years later Incontinence crashed, and Asger and I decided to take it a step further and form a “real” band, and give our musical ideas a chance. Critical Mass was formed, and I started to see a light at the end of the tunnel. I was, and still am, blown away by these amazing musicians I got to play with. Being a part of such a creative and skilled group is a blessing..Period. It’s a fucking hard job, but I’m having the time of my life.

I’m looking forward to play the upcoming gigs with the band, improve my playing, and experience the birth of Critical Mass on the Danish metal scene.
